Science and Technology Daily News Wang Zhengguo, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a researcher of the Field Surgery Institute of the Daping Hospital of the Third Military Medical University, led the research team of Yin Zhiyong of the Transportation Medical Research Institute to develop the world's first rapid collection system of traffic accident scene information. The further improvement of the system is expected to replace the traditional information collection and analysis mode. At the International Transportation Medicine Conference held in Germany recently, the research exchange paper "The Application of New Equipment, New Technologies and Methods in the In-depth Investigation of Traffic Accidents" won the best paper award of the conference.

Traditional traffic accident site information collection usually uses four methods: total station, three-dimensional laser scanning, photogrammetry and artificial tape measure. These methods have many shortcomings. For example, the equipment is expensive and can only be measured in close-up. There will also be on-site missed testing, missing data and wrong data. Once the traffic is restored on site, the data cannot be measured and verified again.

Under the guidance of Wang Zhengguo, Yin Zhiyong's research team applied aerial photography and other technologies to on-site information collection, and developed information collection equipment based on aeromodelling. Through hundreds of experiments, they used GPS positioning and other technologies to successfully solve key techniques such as operational difficulty in aerial photography, image shake, the inability of the shooting optical axis to be perpendicular to the scene, image distortion, and accuracy errors. At the same time, it also developed a matching information analysis software, which can not only use the scene of the accident as the background, to fully reproduce the entire process of the cause, occurrence, development and results of the accident in all directions and multiple angles, but also save the past manual drawing of the scene icon Complex and long time, quickly generate real scene map and scene map of traffic accidents.

Wang Zhengguo introduced that the system is small, light, and easy to configure and use. The collection system can solidify the scene information of more complicated traffic accidents in 10 minutes, and can quickly transmit the scene situation to the traffic management command center in the shortest time, allowing the rear experts to understand the accident overview at the first time.

The system has been involved in the on-site information collection and accident analysis of many traffic accidents. At present, the research team has applied for a national invention patent.
