The pH indicating electrode, the reference electrode, and the test liquid constitute a measuring battery. The potential of the indicating electrode varies with the pH of the solution to be measured, and the potential of the reference electrode does not change with the change of the pH value, which is in accordance with the relationship between the potential E and the ion activity in the Nernst equation. The instrument is equipped with a stable positioning regulator and slope regulator. The former is used to offset the initial potential of the measuring cell, so that the indication value of the instrument is equal to the actual pH of the solution; while the latter quantifies the pH by adjusting the sensitivity of the amplifier. In addition to measuring pH, the instrument also has the function of measuring mV (redox potential) and temperature. The outline drawing is shown in the photo.
